St. John's Church of Uganda – Kawuku

St. John’s Church Of Uganda Kawuku is a historic community of faith rooted in the Anglican tradition. We gather to seek God through the beauty of the liturgy, the depth of the Sacraments, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Our parish is a place of sanctuary and peace, where the ancient rhythms of prayer meet the needs of the modern world. Our mother diocese is Namirembe and we under  luzira Archdeconary.

Our congregation is committed to spiritual formation and practical service. We offer programs for children, youth, and adults, including Bible study, small groups, and prayer ministries, alongside outreach initiatives that support those experiencing hardship. Whether you are seeking a quiet place for reflection or a vibrant community to call home, you are welcome here.

Diocesan Theme:

This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls......
— JEREMIAH 6:16 (NIV)

Word from the Parish Priest

Rev. Fredrick Mubiru

Greeting in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we walk together in faith, we are reminded of God’s boundless love and grace. The church serves as a refuge, offering hope, guidance, and fellowship to all who seek it. In these challenging times, we are called to deepen our trust in God’s promises and find strength in His Word. Our role as clergy is to shepherd the congregation, bringing forth the teachings of Christ in a way that empowers believers to live in righteousness and grow in their spiritual journey.

United in purpose, we are called to love God, love one another, and reflect His will in our daily lives. As we gather in worship and prayer, may we seek God’s guidance and find courage to live out our faith boldly. Through Christ, we are more than conquerors, and by His grace, we can bring peace and love to a world in need.

Our mission is to empower women to strengthen their families and communities through spiritual guidance, compassion, and leadership, while creating a nurturing environment where all can grow in faith.

Father's Union

As fathers, husbands, and role models, we come together to support one another in fulfilling our God-given responsibilities, striving to build strong, faith-filled families. Choir

Through song, we have the privilege of leading our congregation in praise and worship, lifting hearts and minds to God. Our music is not just an offering of sound, but a powerful ministry that brings joy, comfort, and a deeper sense of connection to the divine.

Youth Ministires

Our youth group is not just a place to gather, it’s a community where we can grow in our faith, support one another, and have fun while doing it! Together, we are exploring what it means to live out our faith authentically and to be the hands and feet of Christ in our schools, families, and neighborhoods.

Good Samaritan

As followers of Christ, we are called to be His hands and feet, reaching out to those who are hurting, struggling, or in need of support. Through our efforts—whether it’s feeding the hungry, helping the homeless, visiting the sick, or simply offering a listening ear—we are living out the Gospel in powerful and tangible ways.
